| Site Description | The Etruscan collection at Villa Poniatowski in Rome forms part of the Museo Nazionale Etrusco, extending the collections housed in the neighboring Villa Giulia. The villa, originally built in the late 18th century for the Polish Poniatowski family, was restored and opened to the public to display artifacts spanning from the Bronze Age through the Hellenistic period. Its galleries showcase funerary objects, bronze work, ceramics, and jewelry illuminating pre-Roman Italic civilizations, with particular emphasis on the cultures of Latium and Umbria. The elegant neoclassical setting provides a fitting backdrop for these ancient treasures, offering visitors an intimate complement to Villa Giulia's more extensive Etruscan holdings.
